Artist's Comments

Aaaugh... title failure. ^^; See, I'm terrible with words. But I must give them up, it seems, if I am to continue painting. How dreadful...

Anywho, to the point. A painting for the ever-fantastic *Himmapaan, who is an amazing illustrator and a wonderful person, and an inspiration to many. If for whatever reason you have not heard of him, well... I must say, however, that he is very busy at the moment, so he won't likely be able to reply to anyone for quite some time. I figured he might enjoy having this, as he gave such a glowing review to my last Iberian portrait... :blushes: :giggle: I hope this painting may suffice as a thanks for all of his support since the first few weeks that I came here. :aww:

I'm happy to say that he received it a few days ago, and that it arrived safe and sound, and that he enjoys it, too. I have my share of worries regarding the post, especially when sending things overseas.

This painting is acrylics on a 8x10 textured masonite board (Pastelbord). Oddly enough, my back started acting weird partways through this... I forgot to get up and move around, it would seem. ^^; Ah, well. It was worth it. :)

Ah, I'd better stop babbling... lord knows you've all heard far too much from me in the past few days.

As this is a gift, I'll not be offering this as a print. I hope you can understand.

And of course, I'll take your comments, questions, critiques, etc. Thanks all for your continued interest!

Under no circumstances is this image to be posted elsewhere or manipulated in any way. Thank you for understanding.

Oops! ^^; Forgot to put that in the description... It's acrylics on a textured masonite panel. I'll have to edit the comment! :XD:

You are either pitiful or powerful... you can't be both.

This is a wonderful work and I love the calm feeling of it. It's always impressive how you draw and colour fur and hair of all the creatures you draw. Simply astonishing.

*happy sigh* I adore your equine paintings. You have such a way of capturing their grace. I think any artist would be more than thrilled to receive such a lovely gift. I feel as though I can reach out and touch that mane!

This is lovely! I like the swishy wriggles on the horse's mane and how they sort of flow into the white birds.

Good to know *Himmapaan received the gift! 8D I think I was still incoherent when I first saw this--as I was just getting over the fact that I get to meet you in person! :XD:

Anyway, the mane is so lovely and generally looks like you had a lot of fun with all that hair for a few hours there. :'D Though, I have to say, the horse-lips and underside of the muzzle are my favorite part of this! It's a difficult angle to capture and you got it picture perfect!

Also--I put the sketch you gave me into my folder of awesome art from other people~
