I reworked this... significantly. I have never before done such a thing with a piece... bear in mind that the painting was originally "finished" in June of 2008. I looked at it again recently, after having dug it out of the closet and thought it looked like it needed some serious work... So I decided that I would do just that.

Granted, I'm sure it's still off. It will likely always be off. Either way I'm more pleased with the overall effect it has now. If you're curious to see before and after details, here they are. [link]

(On a more negative note, due to the nature of this piece, Photomerge was refusing to cooperate. I had to piece a few sections of this by hand...

This image was completed for my website's homepage. Mixed media on hot press Fabriano. Irish elk (Megaloceros) simply fading into nothingness; the leaves seem to carry him off... or something. I leave that up to you
