Adelaide: Quick Ref

So, bear with me on this, since this was done pretty quickly, and as a result there are ugly color issues going on. (Blame my inadequacy with digital. The sketches themselves were done in pencil, though, so no excuses for the other mistakes.)

Adelaide! Wheee, human characters! It's been pretty close to a year since you've last seen any art of her, which is unforgivable, since she's one of my main characters. What is it about children (she's 11, by the way) that makes them so difficult to draw? Does she look her age? And if not, how old does she look? See how helpless I am?

This ref was mostly put together for my own practice and for those of you participating in my contest (theme two, where you can pick a scene from my novel in progress to illustrate). You can find more details in my latest journal: [link] previous examples of her are pretty cruddy, so this was definitely necessary. I still need to practice on making her consistent in appearance.

I do like drawing her, but I'm very easily frustrated by the process. Nope, not going to give up.

Critique and comments, etc, especially on things you see that need work are totally awesome. I already see massive things wrong, so let me know what's blinding you. Questions are cool, too.
