My first ever fan art submission. Yes, shocking, isn't it?
Some words: I was actually one of the few who read the novel before I ever saw the animated film, which I managed to see only a few years ago. So no "childhood stories" from me, even if I've always loved unicorns.
A more realistic twist to her, so I hope it works. Note that I've also kept those longish ears that she had in the animation.
Colored pencils can be therapeutic for me, which is why you're seeing so many of them cropping up amongst more important projects. Besides, I'm horrible and have to... distract myself.
An entertaining mix of Derwent and Prismacolor pencils on Canson Mi-Teintes pastel paper, about 10" x 12"
The Last Unicorn © Peter S. Beagle, etc.
