Celtic Kirin Tattoo Sketches by pallanoph Celtic Kirin Tattoo Sketches by pallanoph
Some rough drafts of a tattoo commission for *bueshang done in a roughly Celtic inspired knotwork style. I acknowledge this is far from accurate in terms of style, but that hardly matters here.

The bottom sketch is one I'd posted a while back, but with touch ups done mostly to the mane area. The top one, however, is new. :)

To *bueshang: I hope at least one of these strikes your fancy... let me know what you think/any specific suggestions you might have.

These are much harder than they look... my brain hurts. :XD:

Please, do NOT use these. They are a commissioned work. Thank you.

How long did that take?

I am trying to learn Celtic weave, I started with the 'Pretzil' phase and once in a library tried to do a combo of chinese writing with a Celtic weave-type border, I mess up the weave.

Oh, I'm hardly knowledgeable enough to make a tutorial on this technique, since these are my first real attempts. I'm betting there are some groups specializing in knotwork that have better tutorials than I could ever come up with... :XD:

My methods are too... irregular and unfocused for tutorials, normally. I fiddle a lot. Maybe that's why I'm so slow at everything.

Totally some cheating in there. But at least I'm not going for an authentic style, eh?

They are both stunning. I think the intricacy is amazing; no wonder your brain hurts!

Haha, you should see the originals... big, nasty smudges that made next to no sense. Of course, it isn't any easier for me to do these digitally. I don't have the coordination that I do on paper. :XD:

Thank you! :aww:
