I hate titles. But I loved painting this, absolutely no joke. YAY! Something different! :la: It has been far too long since I'd drawn anything distantly related to the topic of knights.

This is a digital color study I did to prepare me for the commission I'm doing for ~Riitual. Bretonnian knights errant are crazy bastards, apparently. He's got to prove himself one way or another, I suppose, though I hope he's careful while he's at it!

How DOES one kill a sea beast? I hope he packed up some spare spears, etc. :noes:

This should be in my scraps gallery, but I rather liked it, despite it being another of my not-so-great digital "speed" paintings. Say what you will. On that note, critique is welcome, and it's why I posted this here!

dA is acting awfully weird lately, or my work has become crappy(ier)... :hmm:

Photoshop CS3, Wacom Bamboo tablet, trusty mechanical pencil. Uncounted hours spent chugging coffee and tea.

I love the base start you have on the water... And the clouds... And the color of the sea beast... And, well, everything! But especially the colors of the sea beast. It's a very appropriate sea-foam green shade without being a color that blends in with the water over much. The red and deep blues were great touches for the knight and stallion, too - and of course the white horse that he's riding in on. So deliciously cliche. xD Having the sun back-light the clouds right where the knight is also makes for a great touch, really helps keep him from getting lost amid all the water and sea beastliness. :heart:

Not crappy at all. I have people in my watch that fill their gallery with stuff like this and make a living out of it. And since this is a sketch, you'll have a real nice detailed artwork in the end!

how beautiful! The scerpent is very orgional and beautiful/dangerous I also love love love how you did the waves and water! not to mention our mighty warrior is looking amazing and detailed! ;P
