One of the companions to "At The Pond."
Here's Shalthan again... this time he's fled from a hunter, concerned for his safety and the safety of his horns... and he's forgotten all about Elfa! He realizes what he's done, and panics, but then resolves to gather his courage and go back for her!

Acrylic, watercolor, and gouache on 140 lb Artistico wc paper.

No really... I think of the part when Orpheus returns to his home with Euridice behind him, but he doesn't hear her walk behind him. Because of a pact he has with Hades, he can't look at her before he's at home, because then she'll disappear. This pic les me think of when Orpheus looks around and sees his beloved one disappear in front of his eyes. Very emotional.
