Bit of a challenge, given my lack of ability regarding feline anatomy and dramatic lighting, but despite these disadvantages, and the rebellion lead by an unfortunate allegiance between cold press paper and pigment, it turned out halfway decent, but only halfway. My apologies for the atrocious sky. I had to try to salvage it.
To *malikaa: I hope he looks alright to you. He was a joy to paint.
Watercolors and colored pencil on Canson cold press watercolor paper, with some digital salvaging. Roughly 8x10"
Very nice detailing and color here! I like that you took those things you're not great and and fought to master them :3 There are a few things in the front paws that feel a little off anatomy wise, but for the most part, it holds together well. I especially like the face and the detailing there. I actually think the sky turned out very nice here. I like that it's a very strong flat blue throughout most of it, as it puts the strongest focus of detail right there on the main character! Great job!
I think it's the masochist in me who wants to take what can potentially be a "not so difficult" piece and just throw every element I don't understand at it to make it a small nightmare challenge. Eh, maybe that's only half true, because I know I should challenge myself more in general. (Like, learning to draw human faces better from extreme angles... etc. )
Anyway: Was defeated by the paws, because I didn't find enough good resource pics and the deadline was getting close! At the very least, I can now say that there is finally a feline beast in my gallery.

Thank you!
