HOLY DOUBLE UPLOAD DAY. :omg: My profound apologies. :XD: I figured my 5,555 kiriban catchers had waited long enough!!!! :XD:

Anywho, this is ~KJDSTJME's Matchitehew. :D Interesting mixed beastie that I found quite fun to draw. (Despite the fact that I rarely manage to draw wolf heads, heeeheeee!) As a result, I had a whole mixed bag of anatomy practice. Which is always good!

Look. I ALMOST attempted a bit of background. :XD:

Graphite tinted in photoshop, 9"x12" inches.

Beautiful work - I love how many creatures I can identify in this design, and the muscular definition is wonderful :heart:

Beautiful :) Great job on the mixed anatomy, especially!

If I may for once offer a small critique on the wings, I hope you don't mind ^^; From what I've read/seen, on the underside of the wing the feathers at the top of the wing overlap the feathers lower down, whereas here you have the feathers at the top being overlapped by the ones lower down. Erm I don't know if that explains it very well, but basically you just have the way the feathers overlap reversed, so what is supposed to be the underside of those wings looks like the top side instead. It of course isn't a huge thing (I almost didn't notice) but I thought I'd point it out.

Here's a photo reference I found to help explain: [link] You can see how the feathers at the top overlap the ones lower down, instead of the other way around.

As far as I've seen this is true for all bird's wings, but I could be wrong, so feel free to look at some others or something if you want (and if it's even that big of a deal :XD:)
Oh, one last note. Looking at it again, it looks like you only mislayered the secondary feathers, while the primaries appear to be layered fine. Anyways this drawing looks great nonetheless ^_^

I definitely don't mind your critiquing, you know how I love to hear it!  Especially since you're so RIGHT!!!! And it's so funny I goofed here, seeing as how I spent most of last month (and will be doing the same up through November, likely) working on images that were laden with wings. I only made a smallish mistake on one of them for that project (oops, too late now!) but ah well. :D

While I'm at it, thanks so much for the awesome reference shot. I own a visual guide on birds that's pretty extensive, but it can be tricky to find a clear shot of such feather structures. With dark or barred birds, it can be nigh impossible to define the separations of these feathers!

I seem to only be capable at remember the order of the primaries... it's silly that my brain rarely kicks in and says "Secondaries too!" Maybe I just need more practice! :D

And thank you so much! I'm really glad you pointed it out. :)

Thank you, I'm glad you didn't mind ^^; And I meant to look at some of your other winged drawings but completely forgot, I wasn't sure if this was just a one time mistake so i felt kind of silly :XD:

I think that counts more as a prop than as background, personally

Haha, of course... which is why I only put it down as being an attempt at a background. :giggle: My skills in that department are more than a little rusty! :XD:

Oh i do so like the way this is turning out. I may have to commission you for a piece of my updated character at some point in the near future

LOVE it! (and I think you should draw more wolf...(A))
