Artist's Comments
So.... here is my second commission for *Y-Esk and another one of her fabulous characters, Nadiev.
  I'd done so many sketches of him, it's a shame it took me so long to gather my thoughts and plunge into the final painting.  So this is all acrylic and watercolors on 140 lb hot press Fabriano Artistico Watercolor paper, 8 1/2 x 11".  The very trickiest part about this painting is that particular soft beige-cream of his coat. Reminds me of when I did this piece here [link] and took a good few days to come up with the color for the cream colored pallanoph on the left!  So that's why I hope this looks okay. If not, I can always go back into it... that's what's great about working with acrylics!Here's the previous commission I did for her, featuring her character Hadayne! [link] I love painting these guys.  I think I might have to add some darker shadows into the background near the bottom left corner to help him stand out a bit more. I'm really attracted to the texture of the dark brown hair coming down the back of the head. It looks silky!
XD It took me a minute to notice the roses (since I was gawking at the hair that doesn't surprise me), those are awesome! Really love how they turned out.

I don't think the corner needs more shadows, IMHO the chara stands out better on the lighter-shaded background than a darker. The chara has dark points too and stronger shadow work on it already.
Also, the light bg gives more lighter feeling to the painting too
(I'm sooo going to note you now, I can't keep the idea inside my head anymore
