Nharath

Long overdue revisit of my pallanoph main character, Nharath. This was done during the breaks I took from packing, oh my god, there's still so much to do..... I have to not think about it. Ugh.

Anyway, much like my portrait of my character Reivig... This one was a bit more involved, considering Nharath's rather superfluous mane and all. For those of you who don't recognize or remember Nharath, he is located in these following deviations:

Yes, he's that great big golden creature. I ought to update his coloration, as it's rather... well... ridiculous. He is in need of different tones in his coat, maybe some light and dark points, I'm not sure. It will be a while before I have time to mess with color, anyway. So there's that for me to think about.

Nharath's tribe is the Nehrannon, they are a Germanic strain and are now "extinct." The phenotype for this maned variety still crops up now and again, though not in the quantities it once did. Nharath is proud and haughty, and he demands respect despite his relatively young age. Despite his rather cold demeanor, he has a soft spot in his heart for the young girl Adelaide, and he is ashamed of it as he sees her to be such a stubborn, foolish, and irrational little girl, who seems intent on sticking her nose where it doesn't belong! But it was she who rescued him from a severe arrow wound in the first place, so his sense of honor binds him to her.

Oh. And the deerhide pouch he's wearing about his throat holds a raw gem of immense wealth. Its story is rather complex, I won't write it here... All I'll say is that it doesn't belong to him.

I used a thicker 2.0 mm lead for the majority of this drawing, 4B softness, with my 2B 0.5 mech for finer hairs and sharp lines. A nice combo, if I do say so myself.
