Northern Mockingbird

Ah yes, the Mockingbird. For whatever reason, especially in the last year or so, I've felt a sort of connection if you will with this bird. Perhaps its vocal capabilities, and it's overall attitude are reasons that I associate it with myself.

Also, the mockingbird is one of those that doesn't really stand out in terms of physical appearance. It sings almost meaningless streams of phrases, often times hidden in the brush. And at times, they can be bold, flashing out from their hiding spots in a mad dash. Fascinating!

You can probably tell by now, if you haven't already, that I've loved birds for quite a long time, since I was very young.

As far as this painting is concerned, it is small, only 5x7" and is watercolor on aquabord. One in a group of three, the others can be found in my gallery!

Despite how much I am fascinated by this one, I don't think I did it full justice. It could be just me. So let me know what you think about it!
