Artist's Comments

First off. The format may be irritating, but I rather like it. :XD:

Here is an example of what a fight might look like between two males of Southeastern type : [link] Fights rarely occur, as this type tends to be pacifist in nature and do not often intrude upon each other. However, depending on the nature of the circumstance, they can fight quite seriously: If one of the two does not appropriately respond to the other during a meeting (ie: the intruding male fails to perform the submissive bow and/or displays his crest in a threat, or engages in other disrespectful acts) this is grounds for a fight. Especially if the intruder refuses to act appropriately after an exchange of words. (Yes. They speak.) If all attempts to divert the conflict fail, they will both rear and scream battle cries, displaying crests and showing the ear patches, as well as lifting the ridge of hair along the spine.
In less serious incidents, the two may exchange blows to the face, neck, and chest, and may butt heads until one decides it is not worth it. This example is a more serious case... involving blows with all four feet, blows to the abdomen, and lunges for one another's faces. They are capable of leaping very high, and during these they will lock forelegs around each others necks for purchase and dig into each others bellies with their hind feet, striving to knock the wind out of one another. Whoever remains on their feet for the landing will likely be the victor. Don't worry, once he has submitted properly the victor will let him go free.

These little sketches are shown at a little smaller than actual size. I found one of my brush pens the other day, a Japanese one that clearly cost me a pretty penny. It works absolutely beautifully... the only thing I worry about is finding cartridges for it once it runs out of them! :noes:

I've been uploading far too much of this sort of thing lately. I apologize... :forgiveme:

Of course, comments, critiques, questions, what have you are always welcome. :aww:

You can't upload too much April!
I love all your work.

Hmm... This kinda made me wonder... Even though the Southeastern type rarely fights, doesn't there exist any "illness" that would make them more aggressive? Like rabies among dogs?

And wonderful work as always! ^^ I wouldn't mind seeing more of this

Did I just say that!? o.O

So as far as i understood they don't fight to death (exept for some rare cases)?
Also, do they fight to get attention of females? Or they got other ways in this question?
:iconumbbe:
Do they fight ritually first? :o It didn't come out quite clearly from your description, but I presume they do. You could sometime draw their ritualistic fights too, as this seems like a serious fight with intent to harm or kill. ;3

Still, it looks realistic.~

Such clean lines *__* No matter what you say of "these kind of things", I love your linearts <3 And it's a very interesting deviation, very cool to see such illustration! You really have thought of everything.

I feel insane every single time I'm asked to compromise
‘Cause I'm afraid and stuck in my ways and that’s the way it stays
:iconcrimsonmagpie:
Did you do any pencil sketching before inking those piccies? :B

Cool ^^ I really like how this is depicted. The third and fourth shots are my favorites. Are you gonna be doing any of these with your other species?

I like the simple clearness of the shots and good use of white space :D

Unremembered, yesterday is extinct,
Without yesterday, today has no meaning
Who are you, if forgotten?
Who are you, but the sum of your memories
