So many people have asked how I manage to scan such large pieces. And I'm astonished to know that so few people that own Photoshop do not know about this amazing, time saving little shortcut. Granted, I didn't always know about it myself, and I have a few awesome friends to thank for cluing me into it! This particular tutorial was done using the CS3 version, but I suspect other versions of Photoshop may have it as well.
I got out my rather rusty design skills today and made this. The image used as a demonstration will likely appear in my gallery... provided my internet connection holds out.

Thanks for this! I never knew this function and have painstakingly done it by hand a few times... what happens if it doesn't do it well? I'm assuming you can tweak it with the layers before merging?
