More pyrography! Again to sell at my last year participating at the MCAD art sale. A final hurrah, if you will.
I didn't go the "under-appreciated animal" route with this, as we all know people quite like owls, and they've seen their share of trends. Regardless, I myself like owls and rarely draw them, so I seized the opportunity. (This makes two owls in my gallery. There will be more. )
The branches are meant to be a part of the owl... or is the owl a part of the tree? Either way, doesn't matter... though I could have made the connection between the two a bit stronger.
Hooray for woodburning!
(Lots of little errors in this one. My woodburning tool and hands were less than willing to cooperate once some shading was underway.)
I was wondering if this was a wood burning, but I thought "Nah, wood burning is freaking difficult, and who can draw like this freehand without a sketch? ..........I stand corrected XD
Oh, there was a sketch underneath this. I'm not nearly so familiar with owls that I'd risk going straight into the woodburning. That aside, this was far from easy. That shading did NOT want to happen, and the woodburning tool put up a mighty fight! Though it only burned me once.
Thanks, dear! And oh crap, I forgot to wish you and your sister a happy birthday... So, happy super belated birthday! I really want to get both of you extra art when things return to normal for me.
